Philippine National Police Director General Jesus Verzosa inaugurated the new Panabo Police Station on October 1, 2009.

PDG Verzosa lauded the city for constructing the two-storey building with sophisticated facilities. He appreciated the police station being located in an agricultural setting adding that it is more convenient during natural calamities. The new 1,698 square meters station is located at the back of the new City Hall, Daang Maharlika Highway, Brgy. JP Laurel. It replaced the dilapidated building adjacent to the old Central Market of the city. Costing around P 12.6 million, the construction of the station was funded by the National PNP Office with assistance from former Rep. Antonio R. Floirendo and Rep. Antonio F. Lagdameo while the lot was donated by the City Government as well as the perimeter fence and furniture furnishing of the station.

Mayor Silvosa said that the new police station will hopefully boost the morale of the PNP and challenge the police to prove that these amenities will improve their services, especially in protecting the lives and properties of the community.

Also present in the event were City Mayor Jose L. Silvosa Sr., Rep. Antonio Lagdameo, Jr., PNP Regional Director Pedro U. Tango, PNP Provincial Director Jose Pante, Board Members Janet Gavina and Ely Dacalus, SP Members, Panabo City Chamber of Commerce Pres. Franklin Gentiles and City Department Heads.

Currently, the old police station is being occupied by the 1108^th Philippine Military Group. However, according to DILG Officer Danilo Hernandez, the old station will be turned into a Women and Children Crisis Center which is in compliance with Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 and Republic Act 9344 or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006.
