    Panabo makes change work for women in Women’s Day 2017

    PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte – The City celebrates Women’s Day on March 8, 2017 at the Bulwagan, Museum Grounds, Parks and Plaza.
    The celebration started with a holy mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Armand Idago followed by presentations of talents from various Barangay representatives in the city.
    Further, City Vice Mayor Janrey Gavina stressed the important role of women in nation building. “Daghang na contribute atong mga kababaehan sa kalamboan sa atong siyudad, ato pa silang tagaan og dakong suporta,” he said.
    Provincial Gender and Development (GAD) Administrator Judeza Pingol graced the program and reminded PCCOW members on their rights, protection, and privileges. She stressed,”How can we make change work for us isip nanay ug asawa? Be responsible, inspire, and empower yourselves to be an agent of change”.
    Also present during the program were; Board Member Janet Tanong-Maboloc, Councilors Renante Bangoy, Dizon Namuag and representatives of Councilors Emmanuel Pamisaran and Gregorio Dujali, III.
    Republic Act 6949 series of 1990 declared March 8 of every year as National Women’s Day to empower women and encourage gender equality. The Women’s Day celebration with this year’s theme: “We Make Change Work for Women” was spearheaded by the Panabo City Council of Women (PCCOW) headed by former Board Member Janet Gavina.

    By AIR, The Davao International Airport has numerous local and international airlinrs flying into Davao. From the airport, you can either take a metered cab, van or jeepney going to Panabo City or via Tagum City or Mati City.

    By SEA, Panabo City is accessible through the Sasa port of Davao City. From Davao City you can choose among the numerous public vehicles to bring you to Panabo City.
