Population

As of December 31, 2014, the total projected population of the City is 196,249 with an annual growth rate of 3% from 2000 to 2010. The population density is 781 persons per square kilometer with 39,248 households composed of five members.

Urban are composed of 11 barangays while 29 barangays are recognized as rural. The barangays in rural are almost triple the number compared to urban barangays. However, urban barangays outnumbered the rural in terms of population size as reflected in table 6. Urban migration is apparent, this primarily cause by the employment opportunity offered in the urban barangays.

 Table 7 shows the projected household population of Panabo City. The data was computed using the projected population divided by five, which is the average number of family members in Panabo City. Urban barangays obviously have more household populations despite its number compared to urban barangays.

      Table 8 shows that Barangay Gredu is the most densely populated among the 40 barangays. The population density reached 11,475 persons per square kilometers due to its small area and numerous residence of the barangay. The least densely populated is Barangay Lower Panaga with 98 persons per square kilometers.
