PANABO City, Davao del Norte- The Local Government Unit led by Mayor James G. Gamao encouraged the City Agriculture Office (CAGRO) to focus on the comprehensive calamity investment plan and to intensify the preparation and rehabilitation plan on El Niño and La Niña phenomena for the coming year through different programs and projects in coordination with different National and local line agencies during the Monday convocation sponsored by the CAGRO on August 22, 2016 at the New City Hall Lobby.
OIC City Agriculturist Esterlinda Labayan reported the accomplishments and ongoing projects of LGU Panabo thru CAGRO in coordination with the Department of Agriculture XI and Panabo City Farmers Association.
Among the proposed projects of CAGRO includes; Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle (UAV) also known as drone technology tool that can navigate without human pilot on board for project monitoring and validation of calamity damage assessment and for the collection of data. Another project is the one (1) Hectare Agriculture Gawad Kalinga livestock production project located at Barangay Datu Abdul with 700 thousand pesos budget which includes poultry, swine, goat, tilapia, banana, and vegetable production.
Another highlight on the office updates are: planting of the El Niño and La Niña resilient crops, Organic Farming Development program, Fishery Production and Development, Livestock and High Value Crops Production, WHAPEE Caravan services, Animal Health Services and Sustainable Crop Production Enhancement program.
Present during the program were Pastor Lorenz Zonio of the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ who shared the words of God, City Councilors Gregorio Dujali III, Flopone Royle Catalan, Datu Rodrigo Ambasan, the Department and Section Heads, employees, among others.
